Coastal Monmouth Beach Weather Report For July 15, 2016

Hot, hot, hot.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies with a high around 90, so there's no relief from the heat.
Beach winds will be from the west at five to 10 miles per hour. Don't try to rough it without sunscreen. The UV index for today is a 9, which the NWS considers very high.

The surf will be around three feet, with southeast swells of two feet. The ocean water temperature is 73 degrees.

The rip current risk is low. But strong currents can still occur near piers, jetties and other areas, especially during low tide. Swim only in guarded areas and discuss any possible surf zone hazards with the lifeguards.

There is no lightning threat today.

Low tide at Belmar will occur at 10:26 a.m., followed by high tide at 4:50 p.m. Another low tide will occur at 11:11 p.m.
