Traffic became a major concern since the bridge was closed. The bridge was the easiest way to get out of Manasquan and now that route is terminated.
The Manasquan council met on Monday and discussed the situation with Manasquan residents.

A man in the audience spoke up to the council and said, “I’m worried about not getting to work on time because of the bumper-to-bumper traffic.”
The resolution that was brought to the Manasquan council said there will be a three-to-four year fix of the Glimmer Glass Bridge while the planning and designing of a permanent solution is completed.
Members of the public arose with major concerns about a possible emergency since vehicles can’t ride on the bridge.
“If there is an emergency, there will be vehicles of high water provided and will also be a third vehicle on standby just in case of a severe flood or a possible hurricane,” said Councilman Michael Mangan.
