Flooding Reported At Manasquan Inlet
Three or four feet could be in nearby streets, fire chief says.

MANASQUAN - Manasquan emergency management officials are expecting the biggest flooding problems to occur when the next high tide rises this evening in the Manasquan Inlet, according to the Coast Star.
Fire Chief David W. Kircher told News 12 as much as three to four feet could be in roadways near the inlet during the next tide.
“We’re still looking at a high-end moderate to low-end moderate event,” he said.

The good news is that most residents in the “Tier 1” area voluntarily evacuated on Friday night. There have been few reported power outages.
Mayor Donovan said approximately 100 to 150 homes were evacuated last night, which is about 300 to 400 residents.

Moderate coastal flooding occurred Saturday morning and widespread flooding was expected by nightfall and early tomorrow morning, Manasquan officials said.
Fire and first aid squads are on standby and high water trucks have been out on patrol in flood tides, officials said.
