Manasquan Man Who Disappeared into Brick Woods Found

John Kosarowich was found unharmed at a Jackson home, Brick police said

A Manasquan man who went missing Wednesday evening after parking a car in the driveway of a townhouse in Brick and then walking into the woods has been found, Brick Township police said Friday morning.

John T. Kosarowich, 60, was found at a home in Jackson late Thursday evening, Brick Sgt. Henry Drew said.

Drew said Brick police were contacted by Jackson Township Police after Jackson Patrolman Louis Notare recognized Kosarowich as someone he had dealt with in the past. Notare went to the home where he had dealt with Kosarowich and found the Manasquan man there unharmed, Drew said.

Why Kosarowich disappeared is not known, and Drew said the investigation into the incident is closed.

On Wednesday evening a resident called Brick police to report that a man had parked a Ford Taurus with Pennsylvania license plates in the driveway of a townhouse on Gardenia Drive, off Burnt Tavern Road in the Herbertsville section of the township. The man then walked into the woods behind the townhouses and disappeared, Drew said on Thursday. Brick police contacted the owner of the car, who said he had given the car to Kosarowich a week earlier.
