Manasquan Woman Charged With 'Punching And Kicking' Cops

An 18-year-old Manasquan woman was charged with resisting arrest in Wall after she was found drinking behind a school, and then got into a tussle with police officers, police said.

Amanda Kurfehs of Lincris Street was drinking alcoholic beverages in the field behind the Old Mill School in Wall on July 30 when she was caught with marijuana, police said.

She punched and kicked officers who were trying to arrest her, and continued her disorderly behavior at police headquarters. Kurfehs refused to be photographed and did not want to be handcuffed or fingerprinted, police said.

She was arrested in $15,000 bail and was scheduled to appear in court last week, according to Monmouth County Courthouse records.
