Man Found Dead In Maplewood May Have Been Traffic Fatality: Police

Authorities have released more information about a body found in Maplewood on Memorial Day.

Maplewood, NJ – Authorities have released more information about a body found in Maplewood on Memorial Day.

The male victim – whose name is not being released pending notification of his next of kin – appears to have been struck by a motor vehicle, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Maplewood Police Department said in a joint statement.

His body was found around 4 a.m. at Wyoming Avenue and Hickory Drive, authorities said.

“It is unclear what links, if any, the victim has to Maplewood,” authorities stated.

The driver of the vehicle has not yet been identified, authorities added.
