A broken water main in Maplewood may have affected residents' pressure and caused "brown water," officials said.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — A broken water main in Maplewood may have affected residents’ pressure and caused “brown water” late Wednesday night, municipal officials said.

The Maplewood Police Department issued the following advisory about “low water pressure, brown water and Parker Avenue roadwork” at 11:16 p.m. on Wednesday:

“A water line broke on Parker Avenue in the area of number 280. There may be some effects on pressure and water color. The road will remain closed until about 2 a.m., at which time pressure should be restored.”
