Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel
(TSTI) in South Orange invites area children and their families to a free Tu B’Shevat
program on Saturday, January 11, 2013 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tu B’Shevat marks
the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Shevat and is celebrated as the
“New Year of the Trees,” the season in which the earliest-blooming trees in Israel emerge from winter dormancy. Education
Directors Carol Paster and Mindy Schreff, who run the Reform synagogue’s
community preschool and religious school, will lead children ages 2 to 10 in
songs, an interactive story and craft activities. Holiday treats also will be
served, and anyone interested in attending is encouraged to bring friends and
relatives. Advance reservations are required; RSVP to cpaster@tstinj.org no later than January
8th.
