FBAC St. Patrick's Day Parade this Sunday

The three year old tradition of Irish week in Freehold Borough wraps up this Sunday at 12:15 PM with the Third annual St. Patrick's Day Parade organized by the Freehold Borough Arts Council. ( www.freeholdborougharts.org ) All are invited to participate in and enjoy this community event. 


The parade starts at Freehold Borough Hall, located at 51 West Main Street and ends at the Monmouth County Hall of Records, located at 1 East Main Street. The FBAC can boast that this is New Jersey's shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Several community groups are participating including the Freehold Kruisers, The Knights of Columbus, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Freehold Elks Lodge 1454, Olive Branch Lodge No. 16, the Freehold VFW, local Girl Scouts, Colts Neck ROTC, Freehold Fire Department, elected officials, as well as members of the community and their pets decked out in Irish celebration. Both bicycles and pets are welcome.
 
All people born or married on March 17th get to be Grand Marshals of the parade.

 At the end of the parade we will be entertained by the Monmouth County Police & Fire Pipes & Drums Band and two Irish dance troupes, The Warnock-Seery School of Irish Dance and the Fitzsimmons School of Irish Dance. Bag Pipes are being provided by Nolan Higgins.

People wearing green may participate in the living shamrock.

 People participating in the parade may begin registration at 11:15 and should be in place by 11:45. Viewers of the parade should be on West main Street by 12:00pm. Please do not line up on East Main Street, you will miss the parade.
