Free Rabies Shots Saturday in Marlboro Township

Marlboro Township's annual free rabies clinic will be held this Saturday, April 22 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the public works garage.

MARLBORO, NJ - Get your dog and cat a free rabies shot, plus get them licensed with the Township this weekend. Marlboro Township's annual free rabies clinic will be held this Saturday, April 22 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the public works garage in the municipal complex. If your pet requires a rabies vaccination to renew the license, you can conveniently complete the renewal at the Rabies Clinic. Even if your pet does not require a vaccination, you can renew the license at the clinic. (Dogs are required by law to be licensed and up to date on their rabies vaccine.)

To serve you better, they ask that you complete the application in advance of the clinic. As a reminder, pet licenses are due for renewal January each year. A copy of the application with instructions and fees may be found HERE or on our town website. Please note that a $15 per animal late fee will be assessed beginning May 1 through June 30. As of July 1, a $50 fine applies. Pet licenses can be mailed or brought to town hall.

If you have acquired a new pet or a prior pet is no longer with you, please see the application for additional information. Dogs are required by state law to be properly licensed and immunized and, for the safety of others, will require proof of licensing to be allowed into the Marlboro Township Dog Park located at the Recreation Center. This event, sponsored by the Monmouth County Board of Health, is a valuable opportunity to make sure that your dogs and cats are properly immunized.

Licensing your pet, is not only the law, failing to license makes it much less likely your pet will be safely returned to you. Need more reasons?

  • Licensed pets are generally kept at shelters longer
  • The cost of a license is far less than the penalty of being caught without one
  • It lets people know your pet is properly vaccinated and a Good Samaritan will be more likely to care for your pet while tracking you down
