Marlboro's Henry Hudson Trail Fully Re-Opened
The portion between Greenwood and Texas Roads is now open.
A portion of the Henry Hudson Trail in Marlboro that was closed due to toxic waste has been fully cleaned and re-opened.
The southern extension part of the trail between Texas Road and Greenwood Road was cleaned through a Federal Superfund Grant.
Imperial oil found in soil can indicate anything from heavy metals in the soil to arsenic and lead. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the cleanup process includes removing the soil and disposing of it safely off site.

The Monmouth County Parks Department reported that before and during the cleanup, there was no health hazard present for hikers.
The Henry Hudson trail runs 12 miles long, beginning at the Matawan Train Station and running through Freehold Borough.
