Parents of Special People Inc. Sensory Integration Workshop

Parents of Special People Inc. will host Alex Freer, Certified Professional Listening Therapist of Key To Me Therapy, presenting "Quirky Kids How Sensory and Auditory Sensitivities Affect Behavior And What You Can Do To Help."

The workshop is free and open to the public and space is limited. Please register at pospmatab@aol.com.

Many individuals with processing difficulties react to the world differently than do their typical peers, in part because their system is perceiving information in a unique way. Sound sensitivities, touch and texture sensitivities and auditory processing differences can impact everything from attention and focus to social and communication abilities to behavior.

This session will introduce parents to two of the major systems involved in processing, the auditory system and the sensory system, and examine how misperceptions through these systems impact the way an individual understands and interacts with the world. In addition, it will provide parents with resources and suggestions for helping their child improve.

Alexandra Freer, founder of Key to Me Therapy www.keytometherapy.com  in Bradley Beach, New Jersey, is a Certified Professional Listening Therapist who has helped hundreds of individuals with auditory processing issues, learning difficulties, sensory processing issues and spectrum-related challenges improve their sensory and auditory processing.
