Gear Up to Graduation: The Gridlock Guide

The County College of Morris is constructing a new solar farm over two of their parking lots which will close the two lots directly adjacent to the gymnasium that will house 2012 graduation.

With lots 7 and 8 closed, Mendham High School has issued a list of suggestions for alternative parking (which can be viewed in photos and via PDF attached to this story).

Students: All students are asked to carpool with their friends and families and are requested they park in Lot 1.

Lot 9 (see photos): This lot is to the left of the road when entering from the Dover-Chester entrance and the gym where the ceremony being held is on the right. The lot is limited to approximately 200 cars.

Lot 6 (See photo): Next in proximity to the gym on the left. Involves a brief walk, however parking is limited.

Lot 2 (See photo): First lot on the right when you enter from Center Grove Road. Plenty of parking but is a distance from the gym. There will be a shuttle running from lot 2 for both before and after the ceremony.

Lot 1: Plenty of parking. Approximately a five  minute walk through campus to the gym but the terrain is not level Not recommended for senior citizens or the handicapped.*

Lot S: The public safety building is here and guests can ask questions or gain assistance is needed.

 *Those families with handicapped or elderly family members attending Graduation may pull up to the gym

entrance for drop-off. This is for special mobility cases only, as an increase of traffic to this area will create congestion problems.

The start of Graduation is at 2:00 p.m., with doors opening at 1:00 p.m..

In the event that parking is causing undue arrival issues, Mendham High School administration said they will delay the start of the ceremony.
