MENDHAM, NJ - The vandalizing of the Menorah in Boro Park last week prompted swift condemnation from officials and authorities said it may be a bias crime.

"The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office is continually working closely with all Morris County law enforcement agencies to assess and monitor bias incidents as they may occur," Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp said. "Our Bias Crime Unit is investigating this incident to determine whether a bias crime has occurred."

The Menorah was upended and bulbs on it were damaged. It was quickly uprighted and repaired, but Mendham Borough Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner made it clear that the actions were unacceptable.
