📰 News we're reading

• After just one year in second run, Mark Taylor is out as St. Joseph-Metuchen head coach (cjsportsradio.com) — St. Joseph-Metuchen boys' basketball coach and alum Mark Taylor has stepped down after just one season back at the helm, despite leading a strong turnaround and attracting top transfers. The school is now searching for a new head coach, a move that could reshape the program's future for Middlesex-area players, families, and fans who follow Falcons basketball closely.

• South Brunswick officer fatally shoots dog after attack during call (news12.com) — A South Brunswick police officer was injured and fatally shot a dog that attacked him while he investigated reports of escaped livestock, and the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office is now independently reviewing the shooting. The officer was treated at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center and released in stable condition, while the county-level probe follows state rules for use-of-force incidents.
