5 Ways To Volunteer In County Parks This April

The Monmouth County Park System offers the following volunteer opportunities to get involved this April:

LINCROFT, NJ — April is National Volunteer month and the perfect time to volunteer in your county parks! Throughout the month, the Monmouth County Park System offers many volunteer opportunities to get involved, including a Beach Clean Up, Earth Day Environmental Clean Up and several training workshops. Here’s what is planned:

Beach Clean-up, Sunday, April 8 from 12-2 p.m. at Popamora Point, Highlands

(ages 14 & up; 13 & under with parent)
Please bring work gloves and dress for the weather.

Find Your Path in Volunteering Tuesday, April 10 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Thompson Park Visitor Center, Lincroft
(ages 14 & up)
Learn about the many unique opportunities the Volunteer In Parks Program has to offer during this two hour orientation.

Workshops - Come Garden with Us!
Pruning Techniques – Best Practices Thursday, April 12 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Historic Longstreet Farm Visitor Center, Holmdel
Thursday, April 19 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Manasquan Reservoir Visitor Center, Howell
Butterfly Garden Basics
Thursday, April 12 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center, Howell
These workshops are the perfect preparation for those interested in becoming a garden volunteer.

Tuesday, April 17 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Deep Cut Gardens, Middletown
(ages 18 & up)
Join us for an overview of the volunteer docent position.

Please bring your work gloves, wear sturdy shoes, and dress for the weather.
