Atlantic Highlands Woman Admits To Tax Evasion

The woman owns a local Jersey Shore landscaping business.

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ — An Atlantic Highlands woman admitted in U.S. federal court that she underreported four years worth of income on her personal tax return, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig announced Thursday.

Kathy Manna, 58, of Atlantic Highlands, owns landscaping and construction business Manna Construction Group, which is headquartered in Lavallette and provides landscaping and construction services in New Jersey. She was charged with one count of filing a false tax return.

According to the U.S. Attorney's office, she admitted that for tax years 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013, she underreported the gross receipts or sales of Manna Construction Group on Schedule C of her personal tax return.

Under the terms of her plea agreement, the government alleges that the total tax loss was $124,480.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 28.
