Car Stolen From Middletown Acme Parking Lot Tuesday

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A car was stolen Tuesday afternoon from the Middletown Acme shopping center, confirmed Middletown Police.

At approximately 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, Middletown Twp. Police responded to the Acme shopping center at 616 Newman Springs Rd. in Lincroft for a report of a stolen motor vehicle.

Police did not release the make or model of the vehicle.

This is an active investigation at this time. The Middletown Police are advising that there is no threat to the public’s safety.

Patch just reported how a car was stolen in Little Silver on Friday and it crashed on the Parkway north and burst into flames. The occupants fled and no arrests were made.

Monmouth County is a magnet for car thieves, and luxury cars are often stolen right from their owners' driveways, where they are often left unlocked. More than 180 luxury cars were stolen from Monmouth County driveways in 2021, according to News 12 New Jersey, an increase of 64 percent from 2020. Monmouth County now has the third highest luxury vehicle theft in the state of New Jersey.
