Come To Middletown's Nat'l Night Out Tuesday In Poricy

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — The Middletown Police Department will hold their fourth annual National Night Out from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. this Tuesday, August 3. The event will be held outdoors at Poricy Park Nature Center, located at 345 Oak Hill Road.

“This event is a wonderful way for our officers to interact with residents of all ages as well as educate the community about crime and drug prevention in our neighborhoods,” said Middletown Police Chief Craig Weber.

In addition to having the opportunity to meet and learn more about the Middletown Township Police Department, there will be live music, food, fingerprinting, K-9 demonstrations, horses, police equipment displays, an impaired driving simulator, a dunk tank, face painting, drawing with Doodle Dude, Middletown Township Public Library information, giveaways and more.

“Our police department is a vital resource in our community and they are the reason Middletown continues to be ranked one of the safest towns in the nation,” said Mayor Tony Perry. “I’m looking forward to seeing our residents and officers come together for another National Night Out to learn from each other while having fun.”

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. This nationwide movement brings together communities and generates support for local anti-crime efforts by asking residents to spend the evening outside with neighbors and police.

National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and involves thousands of communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases around the world. Over 38 million people are expected to participate in this year’s event.
