Fire Breaks Out In Laundry Room Of Lincroft Home
The fire started in the laundry room just past 4 a.m. Monday; the homeowner said it was his fire alarms that first notified him.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A fire broke out inside a Lincroft home in the pre-dawn hours of Monday, according to Dennis Fowler, the spokesman for the all-volunteer Middletown fire department.
At 4:11 a.m. Monday, Middletown firefighters were dispatched to a smell of smoke with a fire detector activation on Roma Court in Lincroft. The fire started in the laundry room and was reported by the homeowner; the homeowner said it was his fire alarms that first notified him the laundry room was on fire.
Upon arrival, the Lincroft Fire Company found the homeowner had safely evacuated and one of the residents had used their home fire extinguisher.

The resident was largely able to put out the fire, however there was still smoke coming from inside the home. Firefighters investigated, performed an overhaul of the area where the fire originated and ventilated the structure to remove the smoke condition.
Thermal imaging cameras showed that all fire was found and extinguished. There was minor fire and smoke damage to the home's laundry room.

All units were cleared from the scene at 5:19 a.m.
Approximately 20 members from 2 companies of the Middletown Township Fire Department responded to the call from River Plaza Hose and Lincroft Fire Companies.
Middletown Township Fire Department Chief Russell Mount said that had the home not had working smoke detectors, the fire could have spread much farther and done more damage.
