Highlands police set up a decoy car in town and one local man took the bait, they said.

HIGHLANDS, NJ — After a string of car burglaries in the borough, Highlands police set up a sting and arrested a local man breaking into a car Tuesday night, they said.
Police set up a decoy car in town and plain clothes officers conducted surveillance on it after several residents reported their cars had been entered over the past few weeks. At 11 p.m. Tuesday, police said they watched as Marc Donovan, 35, Highlands went into the decoy vehicle and removed items that were placed in the car.
Officers moved in and immediately arrested Donovan. He was charged with multiple counts of burglary and taken to the Monmouth County Correctional Facility.
