Middletown BOE Meeting Wednesday Night On New Superintendent

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a meeting of the Middletown Township Board of Education:

As Patch previously reported, this is likely for the hiring of the new Middletown superintendent of schools, Mary Ellen Walker. Walker is one of two assistant superintendents in the Middletown school district. She will replace Dr. Bill George, who is leaving.

The district had about 20 resumes submitted for the job and six candidates were interviewed. Three candidates were brought in for a second interview, and from there Walker was hired. She will be paid an annual salary of $225,000, and her contract will be from September 1, 2020 through June 30, 2024.
