Middletown Firefighters Rescue Dog From Smoke-Filled Home

MIDDLETOWN, NJ —A fire broke out in a home on Braeburn Drive in Lincroft Monday afternoon, but Middletown volunteer firefighters were able to save the family's pet dog that was hiding in an upstairs bedroom.

The fire occurred at 2:48 p.m. Monday, according to the Lincroft Fire Company. The fire started in the home's kitchen.

There were people inside the home when the fire started, but they had working smoke detectors, which went off and they were able to get out of the home. But the family's dog got scared and was hiding in one of the upstairs bedrooms.

First Assistant Chief Jake Lawrence led firefighters up to the second-floor bedroom, found the dog and safely rescued it from the home. The Lincroft Fire Company posted these photos from the scene: facebook.com/groups/162753170442940/user/100066653143099/
