MIDDLETOWN, NJ — The Middletown school district convened an emergency BOE meeting Tuesday night, but had to cancel it at the last minute Tuesday afternoon because the district did not send out an agenda in time.

This is according to multiple Middletown Board of Education members. A make-up meeting date has not been determined.

This Thursday is a holiday for Middletown schools and the Board will have its next regularly scheduled workshop meeting next Wednesday, Sept. 22.

All New Jersey school districts are required by law to post an agenda within 48 hours of a public meeting, according to New Jersey's Open Public Meetings Act or "Sunshine Law."

Tuesday night's meeting was intended to be an update on the mold removal process at Middletown schools, and how much the district has to pay contractors to remove the mold.
