Middletown Man Hit With More Charges In Aug. 12/13 Crime Spree

A Middletown man accused of stealing a purse at the Hazlet Lidl and breaking into Sheepshead Baygels​ has been accused of additional crimes:

HAZLET, NJ — A Middletown man accused of stealing a purse at the Hazlet Lidl and breaking into Sheepshead Bagels in Holmdel has now been accused of additional crimes:

Police say William Priola, 43, of Middletown first stole a car outside the Hazlet Planet Fitness on August 12. Shortly thereafter, he walked across the highway to steal a woman's purse at Lidl, said Hazlet Police.

After the theft at Lidl, he made his way to the Worocco gas station/mini mart on Highway 36 and Laurel Ave., where police say he stole a second car, this time one that had been left running outside the store.

The next day, Aug. 13, Holmdel Police responded to Sheepshead Baygels on Highway 35 for a report of a burglary. Priola had broken a skylight to enter and took all the cash from the register, police said.
