WATCH: Rescuers Pull Girl From Frozen Waters Of Sandy Hook Bay

A 14-year-old girl was pulled from the icy waters of Sandy Hook Bay by rescuers this afternoon, Middletown police said.
The rescue, captured live by ABC7 in New York, happened about 3 p.m. The girl and a friend had been climbing along a pipe that runs from the shoreline in the Leonardo section into the bay with a friend when she slipped into the water, Detective Lt. Stephen Dollinger said.

Police were called at 2:44 p.m. to the area, at the end of Leonard Avenue, Dollinger said.
ABC7 said the rescue took about 10 minutes, as rescuers dressed in cold water gear walked through the water to the girl and pulled her to shore. The girl was taken to Riverview Medical Center showing signs of hypothermia, Dollinger said.

Officers were assisted by the Port Monmouth and Lincroft First Aid Squads. No further information.
