Van Overturns On Parkway Near Middletown Tuesday Morning

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - If your commute on the Garden State Parkway was slowed down Tuesday morning, it could be because of a commuter sprinter van that overturned in Middletown Township. The van overturned on its side at 9:12 a.m., State Police told Patch.

Nobody was in the van other than its driver, and he was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center with injuries that were not life threatening, police said. The accident happened in the northbound lanes of the Parkway near mile marker 112, which is in Middletown Township.

The accident did temporarily shut down the two left lanes of the Parkway from about 9:15 a.m. onward, but only for about 20 minutes, State Police said.
