What's Coming In 2025 To Swimming River Park In Middletown

Here's what's next for this park on the Middletown/Red Bank border, and expected to be one of the jewels of Monmouth County's system:

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Last week, we reported that Swimming River Park in Middletown is now open and ready for the public to use and enjoy.

Now this week, Monmouth County government revealed what is next going to come to the park:

Phase One was just completed.

Phase Two will include the construction of a Visitor Center, with restrooms, public gathering areas and informative exhibits, said Monmouth County Commissioner Director Tom Arnone.

Phase Two will also include the construction of a rental shop for kayaks and bait.

However, Phase Two is not expected to begin construction until 2025, he said.

"We believe that Swimming River Park will become a signature park in Monmouth County," said Arnone Monday morning, May 8. "Visitors to the park will be able to enjoy a wide range of activities, including fishing, crabbing, birdwatching, walking, picnicking, and launching trailered and cartop boats."

"Swimming River Park will be open every day of the year, from dawn to dusk, with trained park rangers on site to provide assistance and tend to the facilities," he added.
