PROJECT: CONNECT – bring cheer to those isolated. Friends of the Middletown Township Public Library in partnership with the Middletown Township Senior Center will call Middletown seniors to chat and check-I during this trying time. Details are on the Library’s website: mtpl.org.
The Library is increasing building capacity and appointments are no longer needed. Please limit time inside the library. The Front Door Service continues. A pick-up schedule may be made on the Library’s website.
Have you read the National Book Award winner In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex by Nathaniel Philbrick? Submit your first name and a question about the book or the author to refmtpl@gmail.com by February 19th. Tune in anytime on March 22nd to view our interview with the author, to learn about the book, themes, and possibly hear the answer to your question. Made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts Big Read grant.

Have a blind date with a book. All books on display in the Library HUB are wrapped. Patrons are welcome to browse the shelf for the various genres, but do not open any of the books until they are checked out. Then find out who your blind book date is.

School-Age Storytime for grades K+ meets via zoom on Tuesday, February 9th @ 4:00 pm. Register online by 10:00 am on Monday, February 8th to receive zoom link.
Off the Shelf with Christine and Katherine will explain some of the self-improvement resources available with your library card. Whatever your goal or vision is for 2021 (computer skills, cooking, health, hobbies, etc.) the library has tools to help you succeed. Video will be available on the MTPL YouTube channel on Monday, February 8th all day.

Yoga Storytime: Share a story, learn about Yoga, move your bodies, and have fun! Register online for zoom link. For ages 4-7. Monday, February 8th @ 4:00 pm.
Teen Art Club video all day. Register online for kit. Thursday, February 11th.
Play Teen Winter Bingo Challenge: Download the BINGO board from the Teen Website or stop in for a copy. Read a book that fits each category and fill it out underneath. Books cannot be repeated. Complete a line across, down, or diagonal and submit the completed board to mchimento@mtpl.org.
TEEN DIY Decoupage Designs: Pick up a DIY Activity Kit while supplies last.
Adult DIY Craft: Adult Tree art. Kit available while supplies last.
Tween DIY Valentine’s Day jar. Kit available while supplies last.
Adult Winter Read Bingo: Cold weather is coming which means it’s time to hunker down with some great books. Download a bingo card from the MTPL website or pick one up at the adult reference desk and join in the fun. Complete a line up, down, or diagonally and receive a prize.
Virtual Math Tutoring: Need help with math? Sign up for a free virtual tutoring session with high school honor students on Monday and Thursday afternoon. Have your math work with you, textbook and/or homework. Tutoring is for students in grades K-12 only. Each tutoring session is 60 minutes long, starting at 3:30 pm. Register online @ mtpl.org.
