Are you a man who applied for a cashier job at the Vauxhall Home Depot from 2011 to 2013?

You may have a payday coming your way.

Home Depot has agreed to a conciliation agreement with the U.S. Department of Labor, which alleged that from October of 2011 to March of 2013, their Vauxhall location on Springfield Avenue discriminated against 57 male cashiers who applied for a cashier position.

According to DOL documents, an Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) analysis alleged that there was a “statistically significant disparity in the hiring of males for cashier positions based on gender” at the Vauxhall location.

The OFCCP charged that “Home Depot’s policies, procedures, records and interview results failed to provide a business necessity of job-related reason that explains the non-selection of these applicants.”

As part of the agreement, Home Depot will distribute $85,064 in back pay and $2,205 in interest, in addition to front pay of $26,180 in lieu of three job offers.
