ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service predicted that the overnight snowstorm would dump 3 to 5 inches on the county into Friday morning. How close did they get?
The National Weather Service released preliminary totals for various Essex County towns Friday morning:
- West Orange 6.3
- North Caldwell 6.0
- West Caldwell 6.0
- Livingston 5.0
- Essex Fells 5.0

Millburn had sent out a notice on Thursday saying:
- Please do not park cars on the street during snow events as this can impede timely plowing.
- Stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.
- Do not shovel or plow snow into the roadway; it should be confined to the property behind your curbline.
- Clear snow from sidewalks within 8 hours of daylight after a storm ends.
