Millburn BOE Settles School Bullying Lawsuit For $400K: Report
The Millburn Board of Education agreed to settle a racially themed lawsuit with a former MHS student for more than $400,000, a report says.

Millburn, NJ – The Millburn Board of Education has agreed to settle a racially themed lawsuit with a former MHS student for more than $400,000, a report says.
The former student, Omari George, will receive $435,000 in relation to a civil complaint filed in January 2011, after he was expelled from Millburn High School following a fight outside the school, NorthJersey.com reported.
George, an African-American, claimed that the fight was motivated by repeated bullying and threats while he was a student at the school.

George was allowed to return to the high school and graduated with his class a year after the incident, following a hearing before an administrative law judge and an appeal to the state commissioner of education, NorthJersey.com stated.
