Orangetheory Fitness Opens Friday In Millburn
A grand opening celebration is set for Thursday evening.

MILLBURN, NJ - A workout center designed to create an "afterburn" effect is coming to Millburn Friday when Orangetheory Fitness opens.
Orangetheory is a 1-hour, full-body workout, focused on training endurance, strength and power. They use heart rate-based interval training, which burns more calories post-workout than traditional exercise, according to the website. Intensity is based on individual heart rate zones, making the workout effective for all fitness levels while certified coaches lead the workout to prevent over or under training.

The physiological theory behind the Orangetheory Fitness workout is known as “Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption,” or EPOC. The workout is designed to produce 12 minutes or more of intensities at 84 percent or higher of maximum heart rate. This program design produces a workout “afterburn” effect, which is an increased metabolic rate for up to 36 hours after the workout.
Millburn Orangetheory Fitness owner Adam Krell is opening the first studio in Millburn on Friday at 290 Millburn Ave. when it is open to the public. The grand opening celebration will be Thursday night at 5 p.m.
