Montclair BoSE Approves $118M School Budget For 2016-17
The draft version of the budget included a 4 percent tax increase for Montclair homeowners.

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair Board of School Estimate (BoSE) approved a $118.5 million operating budget for 2016-17 during its Monday meeting.
District administrators unveiled their proposed version of the budget in March, which included a $370 tax increase (about 4 percent) for a local homeowner with a property valued at $504,269.

The proposed budget has a $14.1 million working capital allowance for 2016-17, and a $9.7 million allowance for 2017-18.

However, on Monday, the Montclair BoSE only approved a $3.4 million authorization of school bonds for capital purposes, Baristanet reported.
