Montclair Film Fest Gets Big Boost From Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Montclair resident Stephen Colbert will host the former "Seinfeld" actor for a fundraising event at NJPAC.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Montclair Film Festival has gained yet another high-profile supporter: Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

The annual film fest recently announced that Louis-Dreyfus – best known for playing Elaine Benes on “Seinfeld” – will be Stephen Colbert’s special guest at the 9th Montclair Film Festival fundraiser.

This year’s fundraiser takes place at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark. Tickets range from $79 to $250, and support Montclair Film, as well as its education, cinema and community programs.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. Learn more about this local event.

Colbert, a Montclair resident, has helped the festival to recruit some star-studded fundraising help in the past. Previous events have featured Meryl Streep, J.J. Abrams, Samantha Bee, Jimmy Fallon and John Oliver.

This year’s event with Louis-Dreyfus also promises to be memorable. According to NJPAC:

“You know Stephen from ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ and ‘The Colbert Report,’ and you know Julia from ‘Seinfeld’ and ‘Veep.’ But you might not know how much these two have in common: Northwestern University, piles of Emmy Awards and super-skills in both blistering satire and absolute comedic brilliance.”
