The Mustangs (4-2) got out to an early lead, scoring three quick goals to start off the first half. Kinnelon (3-2) found its footing midway through the half, and used speed to outrun Montville defense that doesn't have a single upper-classman on it. Despite some breakaway goals from the offense and some broken plays in the second half, mistakes and blown chances ultimately lead to a Montville loss.

Ashley Bello (Montville) was the other high scorer for the Mustangs, getting two goals, one per half. Heidi Annaheim (Kinnelon) lead the Colts on offense, scoring five goals. Kara Crampton (Kinnelon) served as the creator for Kinnelon, logging a team-high four assists on the day.

THEY SAID IT

"We had some turnovers that lead to Kinnelon successes, and there were some times that we couldn't capitalize on chances that we had. There are no seniors on the defense, but I've been seeing improvements, so its nice to see them get better compared to other games. This team is only going to get better."—Head coach Jenn Mulvaney
