IN SHORT
The Mustangs came out strong and scored the first seven goals of the game and never looked back. Labe and Ashley Bello each scored three goals in the first half and Bello ended the game with five goals of her own. Strong defense by Montville set the tone for the entire game and Morris Hills never really threatened the Mustangs.
MUSTANG OF THE GAME
Shelby Labe-Her six goals led all scorers and she helped set the pace for the Mustang attack.
“Shelby is very important to us on both sides of the field. Not to let her goals go unnoticed, but she plays both sides of the field and she matched up with Morris Hills’ center today. She uses her speed to her advantage and she finishes with a hard, well-placed shot. She was tough to stop in transition today.”-Head Coach Jennifer Mulvaney
OTHER KEY PERFORMANCES

COACH’S TAKE
“I was really pleased with my team’s effort all over the field today. We have been working on transition and we really let the ball do the work today. I was very happy with the step in that direction.”-Mulvaney
THEY SAID IT
“Anytime you hold a team to single-digit goals in lacrosse tonight you have to be happy with the defensive effort. Our team did a great job of working as a unit today and we were able to force turnovers and keep the ball out of the net.”–Mulvaney
