The Mustangs were down 2-0 through four innings of play and kept the game close with good defense and decent pitching against the 2010 Group 4 state champs, Morris Knolls. But Knolls exploded in their half of the fifth and sixth innings scoring three and five runs respectively and bringing the score to 10-0. The Mustangs did not score a run in their half of the sixth inning so the game was called on the mercy rule. Morris Knolls pitcher, Caitlin O’Connor dominated the Mustangs hitter, striking out 13 batters. Three times she struck out the side.
