Recycling Day Coming to Montville

Residents can turn in printers, fax machines at the municipal building on Saturday.

Residents looking to get rid of printers or computer monitors will have a chance to unload more cumbersome electronic equipment and help the environment at the same time.

According to the Township’s website, the Montville Environmental Commission is sponsoring a recycling day at the municipal building this Saturday. The day will give township residents a chance to bring larger, more difficult to recycle, such as computers, printers and fax machines, to the township to disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.

Additionally, residents are invited to bring up to four cartons of paper for on-site shredding, according to the release.

Televisions will not be accepted at the event, though residents can recycle them through a joint agreement with the Lincoln Park recycling center. The township’s agreement with the borough of Lincoln Park was part of the Township’s new recycling initiative, which also included the change to single-stream pick up.

The event will run on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A complete list of items that can be brought in for recycling can be found on the Township’s website.
