Township Committee To Discuss CFO Retierment At July 27 Meeting
Contract discussions for municipal financial officer part of closed session

The township committee will meet Tuesday, July 27 to discuss, among other things, the soon-to-be vacant chief financial officer position within the municipality.
The meeting is primed to be the last for current director of finance and CFO, Fran Vanderhoof. According to Mayor Sandham, Vanderhoof has held the position for the last 22 years, and is set to retire on Sunday, August 1.
For roughly a month, the township was considering a partnership with nearby Lincoln Park in which the two municipalities would share Lincoln Park's current CFO, Kerry Geisler. According to a report filed yesterday by the Star-Ledger, Lincoln Park mayor David Runfeldt decided to back out of talks due to concerns about the burden such a split would put on the CFO.

Vanderhoof declined to comment on the situation, noting only that the size difference between the townships as a potential sticking point.
"Montville is twice the size of Lincoln Park," she said. "To split it 50-50 would be difficult."

With a population of about 21,000 residents, Montville has a population roughly twice the size of Lincoln Park, which has about 11,000 residents, according to Money magazine.
Town Administrator Frank Bastone has confirmed that the CFO position will be on the July 27 meeting agenda. A copy of the agenda is currently available on the township website.
