Medford Township police received a call on the afternoon of March 21 regarding an unconscious and unresponsive woman in a Regent Court home. Upon arrival, they found Babu's body on the bed in the upstairs master bedroom, authorities said. Natarajan told responding officers that his wife had just taken a nap because she was tired, according to prosecutors.

Dr. Ian Hood, Burlington County's medical examiner, performed an autopsy and concluded that Babu died by homicide. Compression to her neck caused her death, authorities said.
