Hit And Run Driver Spit On, Threatened Cops: Burlington Co. Officials

The driver faced several charges and received several summons regarding the incident, officials said.

WESTAMPTON, NJ — A driver faced charges after threatening to kill several cops and their families early Thursday morning, police said.

The driver made the threat upon arrest for a hit-and-run crash that occurred in Westampton earlier that night, according to police. The driver also spat on some officers, according to police.

The driver was charged with obstruction of the administration of law, hindering prosecution, making terroristic threats and aggravated assault on law enforcement, police said. The driver also received several traffic summonses, police said.

The driver was sent to Burlington County Jail, according to police.

Neither the Westampton Police Department nor the Westampton Mayor immediately responded to Patch's request seeking the driver's identity.
