Homeless Vet To Be Held On Bench Warrant In GoFundMe Case: Cops
Johnny Bobbitt Jr. was extradited to New Jersey on Monday and ordered held on a bench warrant, authorities said.

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ - The homeless veteran charged in an alleged $400,000 GoFundMe scam will be held on a bench warrant following a court appearance on Monday, authorities announced.
The bench warrant for Johnny Bobbitt Jr. was issued on Jan. 8 after he failed to appear in court in connection with the alleged scam, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.
His court appearance occurred after he was extradited to New Jersey on Monday, according to the prosecutor’s office. He had been in a Pennsylvania jail after he was arrested last week.

He is scheduled to appear in court alongside Kate McClure and Mark D'Amico on Feb. 6 related to the criminal charges in the case. Bobbitt, McClure and D’Amico have all been charged with conspiracy and theft by deception in the online fundraiser that raised more than $400,000 for Bobbitt.
The stated goal of the fundraiser was to help Bobbitt get back on his feet after he struggled with addiction for years. His addiction began when he was working as a medic in North Carolina, and he moved to Philadelphia with the intention of starting a new life. However, a job he had lined up fell through, and he soon found himself once again feeding his addiction and living on the streets.

Bobbitt had applied to enter into a pre-trial intervention program in order to avoid prosecution. The program is a diversionary program that permits non-violent first time offenders to avoid criminal prosecution. As part of the program, he would admit to some form of guilt, and would be subject to restitution.
His next individual court appearance is a status hearing scheduled for Feb. 22, according to the prosecutor’s office.
