Moorestown Man, 96, Dies Due To Coronavirus

He was the 26th Moorestown resident to die since the pandemic began.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — A 96-year-old Moorestown man has died after testing positive for new coronavirus, Burlington County officials announced on Thursday.

He was one of seven new coronavirus-related deaths reported in Burlington County on Thursday, and the 26th Moorestown resident to die of the virus since the pandemic began.

It was the third straight day at least one coronavirus death was reported in Moorestown, and the 10th coronavirus death reported in three days.

On Tuesday, officials had announced that seven Moorestown residents died after testing positive for the coronavirus, the single highest death total related to the coronavirus reported in Moorestown in a single day since the pandemic began.

Previously reported coronavirus deaths in Moorestown included an 89-year-old woman, an 84-year-old woman, an 82-year-old man, an 86-year-old man, an 88-year-old man, an 84-year-old woman, a 93-year-old-man, a 73-year-old-man, an 87-year-old man, a 97-year-old woman, a 76-year-old man, an 86-year-old woman, an 85-year-old woman a 93-year-old woman, a 68-year-old man, a 91-year-old man, a 97-year-old man, a 79-year-old woman, a 73-year-old woman, a 77-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man. An additional seven Moorestown residents also tested positive for the coronavirus, bringing to 203 the total number of coronavirus cases in the township. Countywide, there were 141 new cases, bringing the total number of positive cases of coronavirus to 3,269, with 187 deaths. Trace investigations are underway in all new cases.
