6 Dead, Manhunt For Suspects In Tragic Weekend On NJ Highways

Six deaths and multiple injuries were reported after several New Jersey crashes happened this weekend. At least two suspects remain at-large, one after a police pursuit.

In what was described as a horrific scene, a man died after he jumped into the middle of I-78 highway traffic and caused a multi-vehicle accident.

One of the crashes involved at least three fatalities – and possibly more. In another crash, a woman was killed by a car in a police pursuit. On Sunday, morning, a car reportedly crashed into a toll booth on the New Jersey Turnpike in Hudson County (see photo below).

3 Dead In South Jersey Highway Crash

Police say at least three people died after two pickup trucks crashed head-on in South Jersey on Saturday.

The accident took place at 2:30 p.m. in Eastampton Township where Powell Road intersects with U.S. Route 206, according to police. The crash shut down the roadways in the area for several hours. Read more here...

Man Dies After Jumping Onto I-78, Causing Crash In Newark

A man died after jumping into the middle of highway traffic in New Jersey this weekend, police said, causing a multi-vehicle crash.

The man, who was not identified, jumped into the middle of the eastbound I-78 express lanes at 7:47 p.m. on Saturday, according to the State Police. He jumped at milepost 55.6.

Garden State Parkway Crash: Car Moving At 'Extremely High Rate Of Speed: Report

A car was traveling at an extremely high rate of speed before it crashed into the median of the Garden State Parkway in Egg Harbor Township on Sunday, according to The Press of Atlantic City.

Woman Killed By Car In Police Chase In Newark

A woman was killed by a car in a New Jersey police chase on Saturday, police said. A male suspect fled the scene on foot and remains at-large.

Police confirmed that the unidentified woman was killed in Newark overnight and said the Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating. Read more here...

Victim ID'd In Fatal Motorcycle-Car Crash On South Jersey Highway

The victim in a weekend fatal motorcycle accident on a South Jersey highway was identified Sunday.

The crash happened at approximately 10:54 p.m. Friday when the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to the Black Horse Pike and Pineview Avenue intersection, in the Cardiff section of the township, for a motor vehicle crash, police said.
