Wildfire Reported In Burlington County

At least two other significant wildfires have occurred in Burlington County this year.

PEMBERTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A wildfire broke out Friday on Ridgeview Avenue behind the Browns Mills Arms Apartments in Pemberton Township, the municipality said in an alert.

As of approximately 2:30 p.m. Friday, the wildfire had burned about 10 acres, and the Pemberton Township Fire Department and New Jersey Forest Fire Service were working put the fire out, according to the township.

"There is there is no immediate danger to any structures," the township said. "There is smoke in the area [therefore] use caution," the township continued.

The fire forced Ridgeview Avenue between Junction and Lakehurst roads to close but have since reopened, according to the alert.

There are no reports of any injuries from the wildfire.

At least two other significant wildfires have occurred in Burlington County this year.

The Mullica River Fire broke out June 19 and burned about 13,500 acres before it reached 95 percent containment, while the Maple Branch Fire started July 12 and burned approximately 100 acres, according to officials.
