Morristown High School Theatre Nominated for 25 Foxy Awards

Morristown, NJ—Morristown High School Theatre’s productions of Les Misérables and Little Women are nominated for a combined 25 awards at Montclair State University’s Theatre Night Awards, also known as the Foxy Awards. Among those nominations are Outstanding Production of Foundational Musical for Les Mis and Outstanding Production of a Foundational Play for Little Women.

The winners of the awards will be announced in a pair of ceremonies, one for musicals and one for plays, on Thursday, May 21, at the Memorial Auditorium at Montclair State. The high school musical awards ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm and is available to stream on YouTube via this link. The high school play awards ceremony will follow at 7:30 pm and can be streamed via this link.

The Foxy awards recognize school productions by calendar year, rather than school year. Paper Mill Playhouse’s Rising Star Awards, meanwhile, have nominated MHS’s Theatre’s spring production of Fiddler on the Roof for four awards—Outstanding Performance by a Student Orchestra, Educational Impact (Abby Higgins), the “Theater for Everyone” Inclusion and Access Award, and the Student Achievement Award (for Technical Director Allyson McLoughlin)—as well as giving an honorable mention for Outstanding Performance by a Featured Ensemble Member to Davnette McNamara (as Fruma-Sarah). The Rising Star Awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 9, at 7:30 pm and will also be available to stream.
