Local Restaurant Owner Brings Korean Barbecue To Greater Morristown
A new Korean Barbecue restaurant is slated to open this September in Morris Plains.
MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — Fans of Korean Barbecue, rejoice.
Morris Plains is getting a new Korean restaurant where customers can cook their own meats and seafood over a flaming smokeless grill.
Woodam Korean BBQ will celebrate its grand opening on Sept. 10 at 650 Speedwell Avenue in Morris Plains. According to the restaurant owner, the grand opening was scheduled for earlier this summer, but it was postponed due to unexpected and unanticipated city permitting issues.

The menu will include Korean classics such as Bi Bim Bap, a Korean rice dish topped with your choice of protein, and Kalbijim, which is braised beef short ribs. Woodam Korean BBQ will be BYOB, but they have partnered with Vila Milagro, a Warren County vineyard, and will be offering their wine.
"By fusing the highest quality traditional and contemporary ingredients, Chef Eli, who was Executive Chef of Woo Lae Oak in New York for well over a decade, presents authentic flavors that pay tribute to traditional Korean cuisine, but reflect a 21st-century aesthetic and sensibility," the restaurant's website said.
