Patriots' Path Development Meeting Scheduled As Death Is Investigated

Officials are seeking feedback from the public about the trail's future, a week after a dead man was found on it.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown officials have organized a virtual meeting for the public to discuss the future of Patriots' Path, a trail on which two dead bodies were found in the past year.

On Wednesday, at 5:30 p.m., the public is invited by the town, the Morris County Parks Commission, and the Trust for Public Land to "help shape the vision for the trail and the green space."

The meeting comes a week after a dead man was found on Patriots' Path across from Coal Avenue in Morristown.

The man was only identified as a 43-year-old homeless man known to frequent the Morristown area. His cause of death has not been determined, but there is no indication of foul play, and no concern for public safety at this time.

This man's death comes nearly a year after another man, Stanley M. Robinson, 65, of Dover, was found bludgeoned to death on Patriots' Path last summer.
