Body Found In Raritan River Thursday, Police Say

A body was found floating in the Raritan River Thursday, according to Highland Park Police, who helped retrieve it.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A body was found floating in the Raritan River Thursday, according to Highland Park Police, who said they were helping to retrieve the body.

The body of a middle-aged man was found in the Raritan River between New Brunswick and Highland Park late Thursday morning, the New Brunswick Fire Department confirmed to NJ.com.

His body was turned over to the Middlesex County medical examiner.

In an entirely unrelated matter, it was also announced Thursday that the body of a woman was found along the shoreline of Carteret Waterfront Park on Feb. 2. She was found in the water in the Arthur Kill.

Police are trying to identify both she and the man found Thursday in the Raritan River. The woman is believed to be of Middle Eastern descent, approximately 20-30 years old, 5'6" tall, and approximately 125 lbs, police said.
